A Collaborative Initiative
The Arts Research Network enhances the prospects and practices of Creative Arts practitioners and Humanities researchers by providing a forum to explore cross-disciplinary collaboration in innovative ways.
The significance of this initiative lies in the fact that creativity and innovation are the stock in trade of artists, and highly desirable attributes for all knowledge-based work. The network develops shared communication with the potential to address diverse audiences in new ways.
Network outcomes will make arts more accessible - available through an increased range of established and emerging media - and are likely to have flow-on benefits for knowledge and innovation.
While much humanities research centres on text, context, the artist as agent in culture, and reception/audience studies; this rarely occurs within the framework of artists and performers as co-researchers.
The links generated via ARN will combine creators and theorists in dynamic research practice.
